The Murder Mystery Company: What To Know Before You Go

Atlanta· Entertainment

3 Mar

Remember the game Clue? I had that game when I was little and loved it. You never played the same game twice. What I mean about that is you would typically never get the same results. There would always be a different killer, room and weapon. I always wanted to be apart of a live game of clue. Well, let’s be clear, live game without the reality of someone actually getting killed. Recently I fulfilled that experience with The Murder Mystery Company, which included; great food, amazing company and an audience involved murder mystery show.

I received tickets to The Murder Mystery Company to facilitate a post. As always, my opinions are my own

The Crime Scene

The Murder Mystery Company: What To Know Before You Go

The Murder Mystery Company has an accomplice by the name of Taverna Plaka, a Greek restaurant in Atlanta. The restaurant was a convenient drive for me driving from Gwinnett and it’s easily accessible from 85 and 400. Taverna Plaka offers free parking as well, which is totally a plus when going out in Atlanta.

You should Expect that the dinner will be packed when you go. We were sitting practically elbow-to-elbow. I’d say that the size of the space with the amount of guests is the only downfall that I noticed, but honestly it really didn’t matter that much. Personally, I was too involved with the show for that to even bother me during the night. It was more notable when I first arrived, before everything got started.

The Suspects

You never know who the killer could be. It may be YOU! Yes, you could possibly become a suspect. Along with the suspects from The Murder Mystery Company, there will also be a suspect at each table.

If you’re chosen to be a suspect, you’ll be given a binder with what you need to know about your character. It’s best to share with your table, as this is you team. During my visit I was lucky enough that all the chosen suspects were completely into their character. They were so amazing, funny and they added so much to the experience. So when you attend one of The Murder Mystery Company dinner shows and if you’re a suspect, go ahead and get into your character. Have fun with it!

Killer Food

If you’re just attending one of The Murder Mystery Company’s events for the entertainment alone, then you’re doing it all wrong. Although the entertainment was great, the food was to die for. For starters everyone received a side salad. For the main course you have a choice of one of three dishes; chicken, lamb or a vegetarian dish that consisted of a stuffed pepper & tomato.

I chose the vegetarian dish and it was delicious. Often, it can be difficult to find vegetarian dishes at restaurants that are actually full of flavor. This was not the case with this dish. It was filling, tasty and a great size portion.

For the meat eaters, they other guests at my table said their meals were good. The amount of food that they all received was enough to feed two people. It was literally half a chicken and two huge pieces of lamb. The desert was equally heavenly. A slice of Tiramisu.

From the moment that I walked into the door The Murder Mystery Company was in character. They stayed in character the ENTIRE time. You’ll notice them throughout the dinner whispering to each other, whimpering in a corner and walking around telling people certain things that’ll get your mind rolling with ideas if they are or aren’t the person of interest.

What To Know Before You Attend

You’ll be able to purchase your tickets, schedule your dinner and choose your entrĂ©e’ online at https://murdermysterydinneratlanta.com/. Shows are typically on Sunday nights. You can also purchase ticket from deal sites such as Groupon (currently it’s offered there as of 3/3/2019).

I have been telling people about my experience since I went. I’ve explained how much fun I had, the great food and the great company I met. It’s such a great way to spend the evening with your significant other, friends, family or coworkers. An amazing team building activity as it is interactive and allows you to work together to solve the case. I had such a great time that I would absolutely do it again.
